PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:

JRU Orifice Plate Assembly is used as a primary element for the measurement of flow rate of fluid through pipes. When the flow area is reduced by an orifice plate the Velocity of the fluid increases and its Pressure decreases at the reduced area. This decrease in pressure is directly proportional to the square of the increase in Velocity of the fluid. Hence by measuring the differential pressure across the orifice plate, the velocity of the fluid through the pipe can be determined. As the flow rate is directly proportional to velocity, the flow rate can be determined.

JRU makes sure that bore calculation/tolerances are well within the limits specified in the latest standards of BS 1042, LK SPINK, ISO 5167 and recommendations of AGA. JRU Concentric Orifice Plates are all designed as per ANSI & ISA RP Standards. The flanges are available along with orifice plates as Orifice Plate Assembly. The normal flange design is as per ANSI Standard, Different type of tapping arrangement are also provided as per customer’s requirement. JRU has its own unique flow calibration facility for orifice plate upto 4” size. Also several assemblies have been tested and approved in leading Indian test houses.
